The Slow Art of Film Photography

Film photography is the way I slow down and really see. Every frame on 35mm film is deliberate. Its composed with patience, exposed with care, and revealed only after time and trust.

In Tasmania, the light moves differently. It drifts through fog, dances across ocean spray, and lingers on the edges of mountains and homes. Shooting film here means working with that rhythm not controlling it.

Each image carries the imperfections that make it honest. The grain, the softness, the subtle shift of colour that digital can’t replicate. My work on film isn’t about nostalgia; it’s about truth. Real moments, real texture, real Tasmanian stories preserved the way they were felt.
